Today I am sharing with you what types of categories come under FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods)
There are various categories in any industry but now we will focus on the FMCG industry.
The products we consume mainly come from 5 important categories. they are,
FOOD AND BEVERAGE
PERSONAL CARE
HOME CARE
HEALTH & HYGENIES
TOBACCO AND ALCOHOL
Now understand what and which types of products come under each category so you easily know.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE: First we will understand what types of products come under FOOD.
FOOD:
packaged food: understand and imagine this in the way, those foods come with packages like,(chips, good-day biscuits, and Maggy, etc.) The main character of this food we have to understand is they all are ready-to-eatmeals, Simply we open the packet and eat chips.
Dairy products: These types of products we see in our area on DAIRY like, (Milk, Butter, paneer, cheese, etc.)
Bakery and confectionery: We have seen such products in bakery like, (Bredee, Cakes, chocolates, etc.)
Edible oil & spices: In my home, we use fortune oil for cocking & recently I understand that this brand belongs to Adani Wilmar. we will go deep into edible oil in the next article because recently i am researching Marico Ltd, which comes under the FMCG sector and the majority of the revenue of this company comes from edible oils. (Sunflower oil, soybean oil, coconut oil, etc.) now understand Spices, India is the largest producer and exporter of spices, it includes (Cloves, pepper we call it Tej Patta, red chili, masalas, garam masala, etc.)
Now beverages: dar ke ge jit hai, mountain dew, soft drinks, tea, coffee, juices etc.)
PERSONAL CARE: The product that we use on a daily basis to take care of ourselves.
Haircare: Simple, the products that we use for our haircare (shampoo, conditioner, hair oil etc.)
Skincare: same like the product we use for skincare like, ( Sope, sunscreen, moisturizer, etc.)
Oralcare: Any product that we use for mouthwash like, (Colgate pastes, mouthwash, toothpaste, etc.)
Cosmetic and fragrances: this also comes under personal care products like (lipsticks, perfumes and deodorants, etc.)
HOME CARE: As like we take care of ourselves we take care of our sweet home also.
Detergents and fabric care: This means the product we use for washing and cleaning. (sabki pasanti washing powder Nirma, detergent sope also comes like Rin Big Bar, etc)
Surface Cleaner: Glito is one of the brand you will get in Demart, there are various types like mogra, jasmine, gulab for Surface cleaning.(floor cleaner, dishwashing liquid, etc.)
